About Us
WISE Talks is the student-focused public speaking initiative within the wider WISE Summit ecosystem, empowering young people to become confident, thoughtful, and principled leaders. Rooted in Islamic values, the program helps students strengthen their communication, critical thinking, creativity, problem-solving, and leadership skills while developing a deeper connection with their Muslim identity.
Through research, reflection, and public speaking, participants learn to engage with the challenges facing their communities and to transform their ideas into meaningful action. WISE Talks encourages students to combine eloquence with responsibility—to listen carefully, think critically, speak with clarity, and approach social issues with a spirit of service, justice, and ethical leadership.
The competition begins at the school and regional levels, giving students opportunities to develop their ideas, refine their presentations, and learn from their peers and mentors. Selected participants then advance to the international stage at the WISE Summit, where young speakers from different communities and countries come together to share their perspectives and solutions.
Since its launch, WISE Talks has continued to grow through successive international gatherings, including WISE 2024 in Karbala and WISE 2025 in Najaf. Beyond the competition itself, WISE Talks is also developing into a growing community of young participants and alumni who reconnect through workshops, student-led programs, leadership opportunities, and international gatherings. Inspired by the Islamic tradition of seeking knowledge, serving society, and standing for justice, the program seeks to nurture a new generation of articulate, socially engaged young people who can contribute with confidence and integrity to their communities and to the wider world.
